Students interested in joining the A.W.A.R.E group should see Ms. Mercer!!
The A.W.A.R.E group has been formed at Baccalieu Collegiate with a main goal of contributing to a safe and caring school environment. There are many issues and burdens that students face on a daily basis when they come to school. The objective of our group is to bring about an awareness of these issues to the student body and to provide some information and support.
We wish to develop a more aware and informed student body by discussing the many issues that today’s adolescents face. We also aim to provide students with the tools, skills and information needed to make informed decisions.
We chose purple, green and yellow as our group colors simply because they are bright colors that symbolize a bright and happy future!
The name of our group also has a meaning:
A: Addressing problems and issues
W: Witnessing issues that are prevalent in our school
A: Attributing to making a change
R: Researching information on various topics
E: Engaging in bringing about an awareness and making a change
